ABOUT CAMBERWELL SHARKS

Camberwell Sharks is a Junior Football Club that plays in the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL).  Our Club is a local not for profit sporting club located at Lynden Park, Camberwell. We aim to provide a safe, active, healthy and social community for boys and girls aged 8 to 17 years old.

This is provided through the Club facilitating junior football games within the Yarra Junior Football League (YJFL). The competition runs from April to the end of August each year. Most teams commence pre-season training in February / March and registrations open in November or December of the year prior to Season starting.

Sharks Home Grounds are at Lynden Park, Highfield Rd, Camberwell. Upper Lynden Park is a small ground suitable for U9 to U12. Lynden Park (lower) is a full sized ground. The Sharks’ Colts teams (U16 & U17) and Youth Girls teams (U18) play some home games at Camberwell Sports Ground on Camberwell Rd near the junction.

The Club actively promotes volunteer interaction, participation and encouragement by parents and carers alike.

The club fields more than 30 teams each year and caters for in excess of 650 players. The club has been running a Girls’ program since 2014 and currently has 8 full girls teams.

Sharks is managed by a volunteer committee comprising an Executive, General and Support structure. The AGM is held in November each year and all club stakeholders are encouraged to attend and volunteer for committee roles.

The club has an active social scene for children and parents, featuring Monthly Medal nights throughout the season, where players get the opportunity to hear from their AFL heroes.

Our Club has a strong commitment to providing a safe and healthy environment for all children who want to enjoy Footy. As a part of this commitment we as a Club adhere to the Child Safe Standards Priority Steps as put out by AFL Victoria which can be accessed below.
